Students using GI Bill®Ìý²ú±ð²Ô±ð´Ú¾±³Ù²õ

On DecemberÌý21, 2021, President Biden signedÌýtheÌý or the REMOTE ActÌýinto law.

Section two of this law extends the various COVID-19 protections for GI Bill® students from December 21, 2021,ÌýtoÌýJune 1, 2022.ÌýIn part, thisÌýmeans that students who were attending a course that was converted to onlineÌýtrainingÌýbecause ofÌýCOVID-19, and were getting paid theÌýresidentÌýrate, may continue to train online, and willÌýcontinue toÌýreceive the resident housingÌýrateÌýuntilÌýJune 1, 2022.

Courses that were originally intended as face-to-face offerings will continue to be certified as resident courses, regardless of a planned or subsequent transition to online distance education due to COVID-19.

Courses that were originally scheduled as online will be certified as distance education courses.

To receive maximum basic housing allowance payments, students must not be registered in onlyÌýclasses originally scheduled as online.

Students must be registered in at leastÌýoneÌýcourse that is not on the lists above.

VA recently issued a news release extending debt relief to Veterans through the end of the year. The full release can be found . Collection actions on Veteran debts owed to VA under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Treasury Department remain suspended through the end of 2020.Ìý
