(VENTURA, Calif.) JUNE 21, 2019 – On May 23, 2019 at Ventura County Superior Court, 15 court employees graduated with a Certificate of Achievement in Supervision from 51AVƵ. This is the third cohort of graduates from the industry partnership developed between 51AVƵ and the Superior Court of California, which had its early beginnings in 2004.

“51AVƵ seeks to collaborate with industry partners so that we can align our curriculum to meet local workforce needs and skills,” said Dr. Kim Hoffmans, 51AVƵ President.

Superior Court employees completed the 3-year, 18-unit, evening program while continuing to work full-time. Several of the 15 employees received a work promotion during their enrollment in the program.

51AVƵ’s Careers Education programs are taught by instructors with professional experience in industry-specific fields. California Community College Chancellor’s Office observes outstanding workforce outcomes based on specific thresholds for economic mobility for its graduates. Program alumnus earnings increase by 50% or more, attainment of the regional living wage by 70% or more and/or 90% or more are employed in a job similar to their field of study. Programs achieving one or more of these outcomes at 51AVƵ are: Administration of Justice, Automotive Technology, Child Development, Construction Technology, Drafting Technology, Nursing, Paramedic Studies, Water & Wastewater Technology and Welding Technology.
