Christina Pezzarossi
Hailing from Miles City, Montana, Christina Pezzarossi mesmerizes audiences with her 鈥渟moky mezzo,鈥 establishing herself as a standout in the opera world on national stages. Born with a remarkable range and emotional depth, her journey began in Montana, nurtured by a supportive community that fueled her dreams. Pezzarossi's path led to prestigious stages, where she portrayed diverse roles such as El Gato in 鈥淓l Gato con Botas,鈥 Rossweisse in "Die Walkure," Margaret in "The Light in the Piazza," and Lucilla in "La scala di seta," all with Opera Santa Barbara. Her versatility shines through roles like Ino in "Semele" and Wellgunde in "Das Rheingold," showcasing her resilience in productions like "COVID fan tutte" (Pacific Opera Project, 2020) and as Kate Pinkerton in "Madama Butterfly" (Central City Opera, 2019). Embracing a spectrum of characters, from Flora in "La traviata" to Dorabella in "Cos矛 fan tutte," Pezzarossi continues to leave an indelible mark on the opera stage. She started 2024 with her debut with Opera in the Heights, reprising her role as Margaret in Guettel鈥檚 鈥淭he Light in the Piazza.鈥 Later in 2024, she will make her debut with Opera San Luis Obispo as the title role in Bizet鈥檚 Carmen and sing Marcellina in Opera Santa Barbara鈥檚 production of Figaro. She will also be completing her DMA in Voice from UCSB in 2025. When not singing, Christina enjoys teaching voice, hiking with her husband Colin and playing with her dog Leilani.
