Olivia Lyon Barker
Olivia Lyon Barker, a Southern California native, is a distinguished professional soprano and educator with expertise spanning opera, classical, operetta, musical theater, and praise/gospel music. She is presently finalizing her Doctorate in Voice at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where her research emphasizes the application of Uta Hagen's acting techniques in the performance of art song, opera, and musical theater.   She has been lauded for her performances in Magic Flute, Later the Same Evening, Threepenny Opera, and Pirates of Penzance, where she won Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance as Mabel. Olivia made her debut with Opera Santa Barbara in 2025 as Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro. An active performer in the community, Olivia frequently performs with Frankie Valli’s long-time music director, Robby Robinson. Olivia also has a passion for outreach and toured with composer Eric Genuis throughout the West Coast for his Concerts for Hope series in prisons, rehab centers, and inner-city at-risk schools.   Olivia holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Arts from the University of Southern California, and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
