CalWORKs stands for California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids Act. A part of the Federal TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) program, providing an array of high-quality support services that enable students to complete their educational goals finding meaningful employment and successfully transitioning into the workforce.

You will want to begin by submitting your application for admission to 51AVÊÓƵ, which is available online via our 51AVÊÓƵ website.
3.ÌýÌý Can CalWORKs help with college costs?
The County CalWORKs program assists with supportive services for students they refer to education.
To seek eligibility through 51AVÊÓƵ you will needÌýto apply for financial aid and see if you are eligible for the California College Promise Grant (formerly known as the BOG Fee Waiver). For more information you ,may call the Financial Aid office Ìý(805) 289-6369 or visit their website.Ìý

Once our office receives the referral, we will call you to schedule an appointment with our counselor.

You will want to ensure you understandÌýthe expectations of your Employment Specialist regarding your participation requirements.Ìý
If you are submitting your monthly attendance logÌýlate you must communicate with your county employment specialist. The monthly attendance logÌýis aÌýcounty document. Our office does not have access to verify class attendanceÌý& study time, it is the responsibility of the student to submit this document to their county employment specialist.

There are several support services available for you at 51AVÊÓƵ. Your CalWORKsÌýCounselor/Coordinator will work with you in referring you to the appropriate resources and will provide step-by-step guidance as you embark on your educational journey.Ìý

No, our office is a 51AVÊÓƵ program and our staff are 51AVÊÓƵ employees.ÌýWe provide academic counseling specifically to CalWORKs students referred to us for education from the county of Ventura. Eligibility for CalWORKs and any other county requirements must be discussed with the county employment specialist.Ìý
