The course is five-weeks in duration.Ìý You will learn valuable skills in modern techniques in online education as well as how to operate our Learning Management System.Ìý

About the CourseÌý

The Teaching Online Certification (TOC) was designed to enhance VCCCD faculty online teaching skills, whether you've never taught online or have taught for many years. This competency-based course centers on three online teaching fundamentals: Equity, Design, and Interaction. It has been updated with the most recent changes in DE regulations and best practices in online teaching. As a cohort, faculty will have the opportunity to meaningfully interact with other (re)certifying faculty throughout the district and experience new Canvas tools from a student perspective. Recertifying faculty will take a separate, shortened version of the TOC. At the successful conclusion of this course, participants will be awarded DE Certification and will be eligible to teach (or continue to teach) online, hybrid, and hyflex classes at any college in the VCCCD.
